The Holidays aren’t over yet, and the temptation of Holiday leftovers and goodies can still be a threat to your waistline and health. But, to help combat some of the sweet and savory cravings that could derail your health goals, Hooray Health has created a healthy eating guide to keep you on track for the new year.
Keep Your Plate Colorful
One of the best things you can do for your health this holiday season is to keep your plate filled with as many colorful fruits and veggies as possible! Not only are they filled with essential vitamins and minerals, but they can also improve your cardiovascular health, reduce your risk of cancer, and help get your digestive system moving!
Control Your Temptations
One of the easiest ways to avoid undesirable food is to make sure you’re keeping yourself full. In our previous point, eating plenty of healthy food, in addition to drinking plenty of water, can help curve cravings and help you avoid temptation altogether!
Learn to Say “No”
Sometimes your friends and family are the ones looking to derail your holiday healthy eating plans, even if they don’t intend any harm. One of the simplest ways to avoid this is by learning to say “no”! A quick “no thank you” to unhealthy foods and alcohol can defuse any peer pressure situation in an instant, and you don’t even have to be rude!
Cheat a Little
At the end of the day, it’s the holiday season, and we all deserve to have a little fun. Fun is part of being human! So the best advice would be, have a little cake and a glass of champagne with your veggies, and lean meats. It’s been a long decade and you deserve the best!
Have fun, and stay safe. We will see you in the next decade!
